Well worth the ticket price. Forget the koala pictures (that you get as a ~ $25 add-on), you can get up close with the iconic kangaroos just grazing in the field, and see koalas up close at the koala nursery. There's also a wide range of other indigenous and some non-indigenous animals to see. Also, recommend the tree top course!

Visiting Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary takes a whole day. And it is worth every minute. We attended as many shows during the day as we could (Lorikeet feeding, Aboriginal dance show, Free flight bird show, Australiana show…), and they were all worth attending, but the one we enjoyed the most was Crocodiles Live. At that show, you meet Boss Hog, a 5-meter-long crocodile, which jumps out of the water to get some food the keepers offer him. Amazing. We also wandered around the different routes in the park, and visited the Lost Valley; once you enter there, you feel as if you were inside one of the islands in “Jurassic Park”, but instead of dinosaurs, you get to see red pandas, tree kangaroos, lemur… which, honestly, are way friendlier and less dangerous than a scary velociraptor. Of course, we also sat next to kangaroo and pet him. Ahh… and the koalas. You can find them there, quite a big number. Nevertheless, these cute and lazy animals make you queue up for a long time and pay a good extra money to get a picture holding one of them. We had lunch inside the park at a reasonable price with a not bad quality of the food. To summarise, it is a great place to spend a day if you like animals.

Great day out. Plenty to see and do. The bird show was fun and the kids loved getting to pet a snake. Talk to the staff, they love the animals and the knowledge they can impart is worth listening too. And wear comfy shoes - You can catch the train around, but you'll probably be doing a fair bit of walking.

My husband and I visited Currumbin Sanctuary on Easter Sunday with our daughter who just turned 1. We all had such a great time seeing all of the animals and she even got to pat a kangaroo. We ordered our lunch from the cafe inside the animal park and the only fault would be that my husband wanted more waffle chips as they were so delicious. Thank you for such an amazing day we will definitely be back again soon.

We took a friend from Texas so that she could finally see some native Australian wildlife (because despite the signs of the side of the freeway, we can never spot any koalas in the trees!). She was enamoured with the koalas in particular, of which there are so many, so close up. Even as Aussies, we really enjoyed viewing the animals that we never come across in our daily lives and reminding ourselves of the fascinating histories behind their evolution. There are so many extras you can purchase to make the experience extra special, however, we stuck with the standard park pass and still got to pat and feed kangaroos. Currumbin is a fantastic park and you could spend the whole day there, or just an afternoon, as we did, and leave feeling like it was a great value.
